I ordered the yellow fogs a week ago and was down for the long wait. They shipped today and should arrive on Monday via USPS. Pretty surprised based on everyone else’s experience.I ordered mine 3 weeks ago. They told me it would be 8 weeks. Shipped from StL yesterday.
Are the lumen numbers worth it though? They look barely as bright as the stock fogs.299.99 is super cheap compared to Baja ex...
Diode Dynamics focuses on candela instead of just lumens because candela measures how far and intense the light is in a specific direction, not just how much light is produced. A high-lumen light can still look dim if it’s not focused right. The SSC1 fogs are designed to maximize intensity and beam control, so even if the lumen numbers seem similar, they’ll actually light up the road better where it matters. Are the lumen numbers worth it though? Received mine earlier this week and installed. Very easy installation. I wish I had had a stubby 1/4” racket (I do now!) as work area is a bit tight but doable. Bracket is plastic but fit well. Hooked up the backlight to aux switch two. Very impressed with the yellow fog output and the backlight when not using the fog. Looks really good with my signature lux grill lights that are connected to aux one.Hopefully installing mine along with remainder of skid plates this weekend. Looking forward to the new look.
Can you take a picture of what it looks like with the backlight? I didnt hook that up but now Im debating on it.Received mine earlier this week and installed. Very easy installation. Super easy IF you already messed with the aux wires and know where they are located.OK, I like that. How hard was it to hook up?
Yeah, I already have the Aux6 being used for grill bar. Not sure I want to use an aux for the backlight. Can it be wired so its always on? Or would that mess with the actual light turning on?Super easy IF you already messed with the aux wires and know where they are located.
After running the two leads up the sides I cut off the red connector and connected the two leads to an additional 18 gage wire that I attached to the aux two wire. Zip tied where needed to secure. No additional ground connection is needed as the ground on the fog connector also grounds the backlight. after gathering my tools together it took me about 15 minutes. I like using the aux switches so I can turn off lights if I want.
1 for grill lights
2 for fog backlight
4 for backup flood lights
6 for behind grill light bar
Actually just using the supplied connectors to hook into the side markers would probably take about 5 minutes per side as you are already in the area.Yeah, I already have the Aux6 being used for grill bar.
