I emailed diamond back and it seems like they are avoiding making a cross bin for the 6g ranger based on the initial teething pain with J-brace requirements. Has anyone used a DB cross bin from a 5g ranger in a new 6g, or have measured the bed widths to the inside of the bed rails to see if it would work without issue? I'm looking to through a DB SE cover on my bed and want to take advantage of the front opening third without have an additional lid from a pelican or something.

Yeah I’ve been pretty frustrated with DB. I wanted the HD and had to settle for the SE. their argument for not making the HD is the braces. That whole argument is crap being that they make the HD for the Tacoma, which also uses some bed stiffeners. Second reason was overall payload. They wanted the haul ability on top to be less than the payload of the truck. Again, not the case with the Tacoma. Their payload is less than the diamondback capacity with the HD. There really is no good reason for not making the HD for us. With only 400 lb capacity on top we sacrifice something like 700 lbs of total haul on top ability based on our payload. I was planning to put a RTT on, but now with owning an SE and walking on it (I’m 195lb) and seeing how much it flexes, I don’t think I’ll be putting a RTT on it. I know some people have. But I wouldn’t put myself, wife, dog up there. And like you, I’d also like some cross bins and I’ll be increasingly frustrated if they continue to avoid supporting our new model.

Following this thread as I am curious as well. I am almost willing to bet if there's one that fits the 5g it'll fit the 6g. I believe it just sits on the bed rails under the cover gasket. $350+ is tough to swallow for something which may not work, though.
