Does anyone know of a way to keep constant power to the bed ports with out having to run the engine?

Add a battery in the bed. Charges when engine is running.
Not dragging a battery around in the bed. Stop short and it flys unless you cinch it down with straps which I’m not doing either.

Dents add character. An auto electric shop can bypass the ignition and add a small switch near the outlet.

Perhaps someone with electrical experience can chime in, but in my (albeit limited) use with inverters and 12-volt systems, it draws quite a bit of power and can run a 12-volt battery down very quickly. So, depending upon what you are planning on using it for, beware. In other words, I wouldn't drive out on a trail somewhere, make camp and run the 120 v for 3-4 hours before bed. Might have an issue in the morning. Others' thoughts?

Add a USB port or other 12v port. Run power directly to the battery.

I'm adding an SAE port by doing this. It will go in the blank area next to the existing cigarette lighter type port.

Will use 10awg wire, put it inside a plastic wire cover and route it along the frame. It will be fused right where it comes off the battery.
