Dang stinks to hear we are all having these issues. Hopefully an update will come out soon. Currently I turn on and off my wifi and it has been helping.

Hey! This is my first post here. I've owned my Ranger Raptor for almost a month. It's an incredible vehicle, but Apple Carplay consistently fails. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or should I use regular Bluetooth until there is an update? Thanks!
I made a post a few weeks back about this same issue. Ultimately I just use the Bluetooth only now. Haven’t had an issue since. Ford Motor DM’d me directly and gave me a CAS # to take it back to the dealership to possibly fix the issue, however I have not gone. I do know If you use carplay and the usb cable to charge your phone at the same time it’s super glitchy, so if your doing that it may be the problem.

Hello, I would be happy to take a look into your car play issues further on my end. Could you please send us a message with you VIN and estimated mileage?
Add me to that list!

I'm also seeing an issue happen more and more with my RR where the "Ford Performance" splash screen will remain on the screen for up to 2 - 3 minutes on vehicle start. The screen will eventually end up rebooting itself, and at that time, even if my phone connects it will never play audio. This is more frustrating since if you want to utilize the backup camera, you need to wait for the post freeze reboot.

Other times the screen boots promptly and everything works. Hopefully this can be an OTA or firmware update from Ford to resolve at some point in the near future.

There are also carplay bugs in our Bronco Sport, where you can't get it to connect via wire unless you restart the vehicle. I wasn't aware carplay had so many bugs with how long it has been out, but these are our first vehicles enabled with it.

What phone mount do you use with Bluetooth? I may go this route.

I’m not sure what you mean by mount? I have an iPhone SE (2020) with the 17.5 software update, if you meant type.

It appears to be a handoff issue between Sync soft and CarPlay. When I’m listening to radio/Sirius and ask Siri to text or ask a question, it will not return to radio/Sirius. If I ask Alexa something, no issues.

Car play quit working in my RR, and the next time I got in my Bronco, it didn't work there either. Both haven't worked in about 2 weeks. However this morning I got in the ranger, and noticed it had performed an OTA update last night, and car play now works again!

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.
The concern is everyone's Carplay is a piece of $hit.

I did take a moment to find a fix to the consistent issue I see with audio. I'm rocking a fairly old phone (iPhone XR) and the only way I play audio is through the Spotify app. This would regularly play through my phone or no audio at all.

Going into settings > Carplay> Ford Ranger > deselecting enable Caryplay slider and re-enabling it will clear all audio issues.

Annoying but not having to restart the vehicle to get it to work is ideal.

The next issue I've encountered is while on a call, the audio bounces between the vehicle and Carplay and my phone. This one was super annoying as it happened while driving multiple times, eventually I swapped it to speaker on the phone to stop the switching.
