One of my favorite beers is shiner black lager. I enjoy all dark beers but this one is a favorite because the brewery, in shiner texas, used to host a 100 mile bike ride that started in austin texas and ended at the brewery front lawn where all riders got bbq and beer for completing the ride, as well as a decent medal with the year on it.

So i have done this ride a bunch of years till covid killed it but i still enjoy touring the brewery and doing some of their front lawn music weekends. They are very family friendly and gave great bbq in their in brewery restaurant.

Wow 100 miles? That’s a pretty epic ride! How long does it take to complete it? That’s certainly more than I could do on a bike now. It‘d take some training to go that distance.

I always enjoy a nice Kolsch. & just might have to track this one down. It seems though that we don’t get much beyond Alberta/bc out here.

Today’s beer is probably less important than the barware used! Enjoy the game!

Me and my friends cruise that ride so its between 7 and 8 hours of riding. There are rest areas every 10 to 13 miles so lots of places to get water or gatorade and the 50 mile break has pizza to eat.

Saw this in a store in Russellville, Kentucky today. It's brewed in Georgetown, Kentucky. Figured to try it, and yeah, it's tasty. My preference is for lower alcohol content, and this is at 4.9%.

Apparently there’s a football game on tomorrow or something…. So while I can’t find any KC branded beer here, our city’s one top league team colors are similar/same, so had to buy their beer in honor to enjoy tomorrow. However sessionable apparently means it’s easy to pound 4 tall boys in an afternoon & evening. So will search out something else for tomorrow.

Though not clear, it's bubbling like an A-B beer!

This related to the Shiner Bock I used to see somewhere? Maybe while I was stationed at Fort Hood in the early 90's?

Some interesting beers, but man how about a different glass? Eyes are drawn to the Stella label first and steeling the thunder.

Forgotten Lake blueberry Ale. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. Pretty smooth for 7.1%
Serve cold.

Oh man that looks awesome! I’m a fan of fruit ales. They’re usually not 7% though!
