Sorry to make a single-purpose post, but it could save people some significant money if they act today. I noticed that the BAK Revolver X4S price went up from $1249 to $1479 In the last day or two. I also noticed that the same tonneau cover is still being sold on Amazon for $1249…. For those waiting to purchase, you may want to order on Amazon today before the updated pricing flows over to the Amazon site. Both Amazon and RealTruck offer free shipping, and Amazon provides a phone number to register / sign up for the BAK 5 year warranty.

Agree that it’s way over-priced, but it does fill a specific niche that makes it the stand-out best option for me. I am not a fan of RealTruck so that part of the transaction sucks since they own the BAK brand.

There are plenty of good tri-fold options. The reason the X4S Revolver is the only viable option for me is because I want a hard cover, but also want to be able to see out the back window when it’s open since I do a lot of driving in reverse on the farm. The “canister” options take up too much bed space and are more difficult to entirely remove.

I also saw the X4tS. A little more expensive.

Edit: Nevermind - I saw this video and there are others out there. Thinking of buying the X4tS (Shipping weight 80 lbs.) because of capability of adding some minor stuff to the tracks.
J-braces were ordered and waiting at the dealer before my truck arrived, so I'm good with that.

Does it have a locking mechanism and if you have the tailgate down, can you shut the tailgate without having to lift-up the cover?

No, the tailgate is basically your lock. Once you open the tailgate, you pull on a cable on the cover which unlatches the cover on passenger/driver's side.
Someone creative could use a wire coat hanger with a hook that grabs the cable and unlatch, I believe.
Yes, you can shut the tailgate without lifting the cover.
I'm happy with my recent purchase so far.
Amazon prices just went up $200 to match the Realtruck price increase mentioned in the thread starter.

There are a few places still selling for the previous price. I was able to place an order with NAPA online for the original price less a 10% discount for being a AAA member. Check the price list in Google Shopping for "Bak Revolver X4s 80342". Some places will give you a discount for entering your e-mail address.
