My Ranger Raptor center screen locked up yesterday.

It was in reverse and showing an image that I just happened to notice was not moving when the truck was moving.
I luckily realized the image was frozen before backing into anything.

I tried to X out of the cameras nothing was working on the center screen, the whole screen was frozen.

Had to shut the truck off and restart, then shut the truck off again and open a door to get the screen to shut off and it all started working again after that second restart.

Has me a bit gun shy trusting my cameras now.
The image was clear as can be, just frozen .
So, you could run into something, if your trusting the cameras to show you real time images of where you are at.

Never seen anything like this before. I have had many many vehicles with backup cameras going on 20 years.
Never had one do this.

Good afternoon. If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and I’ll look into this concern. Thanks!

This Post shows how to 'Reset' the Sync Screen (without restarting the vehicle):

Thank you for reaching out.
I may wait and see if it does it again.
Right now I am afraid it would be hard to duplicate the problem for the dealer to be able to find and repair it.

I have the soft reboot procedure that gForceDude posted a link about just incase it does it again.

Not while backing, but twice this week started the truck like normal and the main display never came on and stayed black. Touched screen, pushed on and off nothing, brought to life. Both instances had to shut the truck off and restart it and acted like nothing happened.

I believe there’s a new OTA SYNC update coming out in the 4th quarter for SYNC 4 issues.
