To the extent anyone cares what Edumnds thinks. Not a bad video. They gave the edge to the Ranger but it was super close.

I'm still struggling with seat comfort in my XLT but I have some seat covers on the way that might help. Not everybody agrees, but to me the new Taco is not great looking - just too angular with weird proportions. But if I can't get my back and arse comfy in the Ranger, I'll be trading in for a Taco.

I just picked up my 2025 Ranger XLT 2.3 two days ago. Coming from a 2013 Tacoma 4.0 V6, I am very happy with the Ford Ecoboost 2.3! I hated the seats in my Tacoma. They felt like they had a hole in the middle, and my butt sank down way too far. The Ranger seats are better in that regard, but I find the side bolsters a bit narrow. The Ranger seat kind of squeezes my butt a little bit too much, but it is way better than the “sitting in a bucket” feeling of my Tacoma seat!
My new Ranger drives and rides so much better than my old Tacoma that it really is breathtaking. The new for 2025 2.3L engine feels extremely powerful and smooth!
I looked at a new 2025 Tacoma before making my decision, but I found the Tacoma interior very plastic-y and almost toy-like. I also did not like the fragile looking exterior vents on the sides of the nose, and the bed seemed not as deep as the Ranger bed.
I am very happy with my purchase, especially given the “Employee pricing” discount of about 10%! I can only hope that my new Ranger proves to be as reliable, or more so than my old Tacoma…

I test drove the Ranger XLT, Lariat and Raptor. The XLT seats reminded me of a rental car. I have owned a number of XZLT in my lifetime and usually find the trim to be mid grade with good seating. But these seats are more for a work truck XL. The Lariat seats were very comfortable. Day and night difference with the XLT. The Raptor seats are comfortable but the bolsters are large. I am a fairly thin guy so the bolsters are over half the depth on my body. They definitely hold in your seat when rounding corners. I went with the Raptor.
You may want to go to an upholstery shop and have them reshape the seats. They can change the foam, add heated seating, upgrade to leather. They can tailor the seat to you.

It’s funny, we have noticed the doors not closing without extra oomph on our RR. I thought we were just getting old! I notice it most on whatever is the last door is that we close, like the air seal in the truck is too tight or something.

My doors eventually shut normally, but my kids ride back there a lot, so they get a lot of use. When it was new, we had to open and re-shut the doors a lot though.
