So the 7-pin has a charge line. Looks like there is a 30A fuse, and from what the manual says (maybe I misread that) 20A on the connector.

Question is whether the Ford cabeling / wireing can sustain 20A ? Connector, does that do 20A on a range raptor ?

Curious if you ever learned more about this, I’m interested in the same.

Not a scientific answer here, but I installed a DC-DC charger in my Northern Lite Truck camper which sits in my F350 Diesel Tremor. I ran very (can't remember the gauge) heavy gauge wire directly from the battery (fused for 60a), terminated with an Anderson Connector in the bed. I am doubtful the small gauge wiring designed for the 7 pin trailer connector is adequate to support the DC-DC charger application. Again, my opinion only and your mileage may vary. Also interested in hearing other views - always learning from these forums.

I would love to see what solutions are out there for this!
I have a trailer with a normal trailer brake battery as well as a deep cycle battery to run a winch, lights, and other mounted 12v accessories.
Obviously the truck normally charges the brake battery but I would love to be able to have the truck charge my deep cycle battery as well.

Almost a certainty it won’t support 20A. It’s a long routing from the battery. Just check your wire next to the connector, what AWG is?at 13V with a tension drop up to 1V and 5mt lenght you would need a 10AWG wire at minimum.

The cable to the 12V socket in the bed wall is a 14AWG, but rated max 10A

So, Ford put a 30 amp fuse on a line that can only handle 10 amps?
Isn't there a danger of melting wires and causing shorts?

Fuse rating has always to be higher that nominal current. 1.5x is norm
Yet, I do not know which wire gauge you have, you should look at it. And yet, manual should tell you the max amp/watt
