Sure there is nothing wrong with the old 2.3. It’s been pretty reliable over the years. But the new integration of port
Maybe, Maybe.

The 25 mavericks have like 12hp less than the 24s.

It’s weird there’s no info on the 2.3 for explorer, bronco and ranger.

Yea that’s true. The hp numbers are deceiving. But the new engine in the maverick does the same of faster 0-60 i believe. The reviews say the 24 Mustang is faster than the 23 too.

the lobo maverick has a different trans, it’s a dct 7 speed from the overseas focus st, yes this 42k maverick is quicker but not all the other 25 basic ones with the 8 speeds.

the 25 mustang as far as I know yes is quicker with the 2.3 but then I think about the hpp 2.3 mustang with 330hp.

I’m not talking about any of the special ones. Just the basic ones.

Well, I don’t know about any of the previous versions of the 2.3, but I am just saying that my new ‘25 2.3 XLT feels much stronger than I expected it to!

Down on power I’m not sure how it’s going to be quicker then for 25 mavricks. It’s down on power due to a Gas Particulate filter seen on diesels on the exhaust.

I’m going to be on team “old” 2.3 is better. I might be the only one but a proven motor with tuning capability is where I’m at. And really the 24s are the only Ranger with the “old” 2.3 with no mechanical fan with the 10R60.

Being new to the Ford family, I had to Google what the new MPC engine was all about. This is what I found:

I have an 2.7 Ranger about to ship however I was a little too late for this option. I was heavily influenced by folks complaining about engine carbon build up (found in just about all direct engines). I am glad Ford is moving in this direction and they should advertise it. That being said, many people have direct injection engines in the world and are doing fine. Just be more aggressive with your oil change timelines and use top tier fuels.

On YouTube, JMCgarage is claiming that the new 2.3 is putting out 300hp and 310 ft/lbs of torque. I don’t know where he is getting those numbers though…
