Anyone else experiencing a hard to latch front hood?
I have to drop mine from about a foot to get it to latch.
I would like to lower and give it a push to latch.
Is there a simple adjustment?

Ok thanks.
I was thinking of adding strut cylinders but might not be able to. Not sure you can drop it with the strut cylinders.
I'll have to check my son's Bronco. He just installed a kit.

I’m having the same issue my 24 Lariat. I have to drop from well over 1 foot.

I'm dropping it at about a foot. Dealers lot guy said all the Rangers seem to need a good drop to get them to latch.

Installed struts on mine with no issue. Does require a small effort to push close, which is expected.

Many of us early build Rangers had problems with hard to close hoods. As mentioned there was an advisory for it.

The dealership adjusted mine and it now closes from about 8". If it were 12", I'd be OK with it personally.

Before mine was adjusted, it would take 2ft of drop and you had to help accelerate the drop...to the point where I was concerned about causing damage.

There is a service bulletin addressing this issue (24-2233)

Markets: North American Markets Only

Issue: Some 2024 Ranger vehicles may exhibit a hood that requires extra effort to engage the primary latch when closing the hood. This may be due to the misalignment of the latch assembly to the hood striker. This condition does not affect the secondary latch operation and the hood will remain secured. To correct this concern, follow the Service Procedure to adjust the latch and adjust the bump stop rubbers.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
• 2024 Ranger
• Difficult to latch hood
Service Procedure

1. Open the hood.

2. Adjust the bump stop rubbers located on the hood assembly by turning the bump stop rubbers clockwise until the bump stop rubber is fully wound in to the hood inner panel.

3. Once the bump stop rubbers are wound in all the way, turn the bump stop rubbers counter clockwise 3.25 turns.

4. Open the hood and hold it 12-13 inches (304-330 mm) above the latch and drop the hood. Did the hood latch easily?

(1). Yes - repair is complete.

(2). No - proceed to Step 5.

5. Remove the radiator sight shield. Refer to WSM, Section 501-14.

6. Loosen the latch attachment bolts and align the latch so it is centered to the hood striker.

7. Open the hood and hold it 12-13 inches (304-330 mm) above the latch and drop the hood. Did the hood latch easily?

(1). Yes - repair is complete.

(2). No - proceed to Step 8.

8. Adjust the bump stop rubbers located on the hood assembly counter-clockwise 0.5 turns.

9. After adjustments are made, closely inspect for even panel gaps between the hood, fenders, and grille and align as necessary. Refer to WSM, Section 501-03.

10. Reassemble the vehicle.

I put gas struts on mine, it closes fine. I pull the hood down, it sits above the lock position and I press down with both hands and, Bob's your uncle, it latches.
