Hi all,

Bought a 2024 STX Ranger a month ago. Great little truck and loving the ability to get around the city easily. Came with the 2.3l engine and 53R towing package but without the TBC. (TBC is on back order as some posters have already mentioned, so going to use the Curt wireless recommended on here.)

Question is, we also have a 2019 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite 201BHXL trailer about 4400 lbs dry so approx 5400lbs full (plan on running it empty of water for ease of towing).

Should I get a wdh with sway bars for it? Planned trip will be Eastern Canada I'm guessing maybe 6000 kms round trip. Would the sway bars interfere with the integrated Ford sway controller??

Appreciate the advice!

What will your tongue weight be with elec jack (if equipped), battery, and full tank of propane ? I suspect you may be pushing the limits of this truck without a WDH - plus I always felt they must rate towing capacity based on testing in Kansas on flat ground with a slight tailwind :whew:

Absolutely you need a WDH. I am towing a Salem FSX about the same weight and wouldn’t tow without it. It has towed nicely but I wouldnt say ā€˜I don’t know it’s back there’. Especially in wind.
