Are you guys choosing beadlock capable wheels or base wheels for the Raptor? Not sure if they’re worth the option cost.
I am personally going to go with base wheels for now, for 1500 dollars I would rather get some nice Method wheels and make it a little more personal. Both wheels look good imo.

Further, all of my Toyota dealer friends and going above MSRP on their TRD pro Tacomas, and other limited production models too. They may not for a friend or really good customer, but they are in most cases, so this isn't limited to Ford dealers. So saying you'll just run to Toyota may not accomplish anything.
yea it all depends on dealers, there are good and bad, some that take advantage some that dont...
My Toyota dealer atleast was transparent that the TRD Pro gets a $5000 mark up, but all other models, including Trailhunter are being sold at MSRP. I hope they stick to that.

Dealers make a killing on financing, extended warranties, paint/interior protection plans, and dealer options. The few thousand they get from a single Raptor should burn any good will they had with the customer.
Not if a customer knows what they are doing. I secure my own financing, buy extended service plans online from places such as Granger that only mark them up $50, and price shop my accessories online, and have them match the price to get my business.

So this additional income you're referring to, does not have to exist if you take the time to do your homework and prevent it from occurring.

In that they are bead lock ready, don't include the rings, as youd still have to buy the bead lock rings, I stuck with the stock Raptor wheel. And if I decide on another wheel which just go the after mkt wheel direction.

I built a 24 XLT 2WD and compared it to a 23 that I built, trying to match options as closely as I could, and there’s only about $250 difference. What am I doing wrong? According to y’all, the 24 should cost thousands more???

I know different strokes, but the 6G looks like a real truck where the 5G looks like a car on steroids with a bed ... but you know what they say ..."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

In that for quite a while they will only be getting one Ranger Raptor, and they have no idea how many, much less when they will get more, I totally understand them asking for more than msrp. The mark up on them is not thousands and thousands like you all think, as Ford has been trimming margins more and more every year, and as Jim Farley has said, Ford is pushing for a "this is the price period model". The days of huge margins between invoice and msrp on most vehicles is quickly fading away.

I understand a Ford dealer with a limited production, high demand unit. wanting to make more than the $2k to $3k you make at msrp on it as well. This makes up for all of the, as little as $100 msrp mark ups, there are on low end Escapes. Mavericks, etc.

The mark up on a ranger raptor isn't nearly as much as it is on the F150 version. And again, it's a limited quantity unit, so it doesn't have to be given away like some of the more massed produced, and common vehicle models do to sell them.

So my problem is less with dealer mark ups, and totally with when they occur unannounced or at the last minute. A customer ought to be guaranteed the price that was agreed upon at the time of the order, including all fees, mark ups, etc. And both parties should then honor it upon delivery.

As long as you know what you are paying up front, and it's agreed upon, then it's fair to both parties.

If somehow Raptors lose their exclusively, or pent up demand, then the buyer will likely have a better position and the mark ups, etc would go away.

So, honestly, if you are getting to buy a dealer's only Raptor Ranger for the foreseeable future at MSRP, you are both getting a fair deal and should consider yourself fortunate.

I concur.

These dealers mind you make their money based upon volume, not individual sales overall. For the sake of the consumer they need to keep a perspective of future sales and keeping brand loyalty.

Greed is a sickness.

Don't disagree, and that's also why honesty up front is important. And sticking to their word.

Just got a call from my dealer. Told him I wanted an Iconic Silver Raptor with no options. He said Raptor builds are to start in October so let the wait begin...

My close second choice. Had a silver F150 so getting mine in green. The silver is underrated I think.

I agree, the new one looks a little more trucky. I wouldn't have minded a grille/bumper a little bit more like the Raptor's, but I don't hate it. I would be fine with my truck looking like the one I posted above.

From the sounds of it, an XLT 2WD is going to be fairly comfortably priced compared to some of the more look-at-me models, so that's good for me. If they can find it in their hearts to offer a 6' bed with that crew cab sometime soon, all the better!

That's a projected date that could still change. First run test and review(vehicles given to the press to drive, etc), and company vehicles will be built to work out the kinks. Then the ok to buy will occur and production will start. Retail orders likely won't start until this fall. This is why the auctions have a lot of company service vehicles at first, as all of these first run vehicles that weren't available to the public start showing up at the auctions once they know they are safe and worthy of sale to the public.

So the allocations for the 4th quarter probably won't be built till Spring?

Already removing features. Auto start/stop delete is standard at least on Raptor. Most will probably be just fine with that.
Lucky! It's mandatory down under to meet emission standards. Pain in the ass to disable.
