Seems to be a generational thing. I don't know anyone over 40 with a family or retired that is focused on taking their daily driver "off roading" or prioritizing aggressive looks over value and functionality and price point. Recreational use and CAMPING off the beaten path using some dirt roads, yes absolutely. Nobody needs 1 of these plastic faced transformers for those uses and doesn't care about LOOKING aggressive getting there at all lol.
I’m going to be 62 in December, I don’t know if “aggressive“ is the correct word but whatever. I live in the northern panhandle of West Virginia about 35 miles west of Pittsburgh PA. I ordered a RRaptor because I think it’s a really good looking truck & also the weather around here in the winter can be challenging at best so being able to get where I need to during snow events is important. Do I want to run the BAHA? No, but I think this truck looks good & is a high performance truck & if I’m going to be spending my money on something, why not spend it on something that’s pretty bad ass!!

I'm over 40 with a family and I plan on using it as a daily driver AND for off roading. You keep making the mistake of thinking that looks come at the expense of every other category you mentioned. I assure you they do not. Again, Tacoma and GM twins have proven this point for their next-gen trucks. All things being equal, the majority of the population will buy the one that looks better.

Lets face it, the top tier trim always looks the coolest.

There I said it. Vehicles are one of those products that turn grown men into high schoolers again when it comes to looks. Never in the history of modern vehicles reveals has the company ever pulled the sheet off to reveal to the world a bottom tier trim level with steelies.

Mine is for off-road and daily driving, but I'm a bit of an outlier. I pretty much use my patrol vehicle within policy to conduct private business when able and obviously my commute to work.

My 2019 XLT still has less than 18,000 miles after 3+ years. A majority of those miles are highway to get to camping / off road locations. Some local errands are sprinkled in there.

You keep making the mistake of thinking looks trump everything else and that is totally your subjective opinion. The next gen GM twins and Tacoma have not proven a damn thing yet- and Toyota has been putting out absolutely hideous designs on their front ends across the entire lineup including Lexus for going on a decade now. I'd wager they know their dedicated base will keep sucking up anything they throw out there and keep pushing the limits of Fugly. I'd wait until ALL the next gen vehicles have been fully reviewed and compared and written about and a year or 2 of sales figures come in before declaring they "proved" anything.

When I was growing up people always kept commenting that guys that have to have the biggest, loudest, flashiest vehicles were obviously compensating for their "shortcomings" elsewhere and there may be some truth to that. And I disagree with your all things being equal conclusion too: I bet we can find surveys and historical data showing the majority of the population buys the vehicle they can AFFORD while meeting most of their needs better than competitors.

This is painfully obvious you don't know what "all things being equal" actually means. It means that if all the other factors are equal (technology, capability, payload/towing, and yes, even PRICE), then they will choose the one that looks better.

Just to reiterate......I want chicken tacos
Grouper and Pork tacos are better
I don't mean to be argumentative. However, I think you are both wrong! It's street tacos! Street tacos are delicious, amazing, and oh so mouthwatering! Bite into a tender steak, zesty lime flavor with a hint of spice and add on tomatoes, onions and possibly avocado if that is to your taste, for a savory bite you are going to love! This is only my opinion over your opinions's, but I think the better opinion.

BTW...2024 Ranger Production Scheduling Resumes July 20th. I Sure hope that stays firm and Ford does not push the date back!

So, you agree the Ranger will be the one people want to buy... because the Taco is ugly.

Ah one of those "everyone must think the same as me" people.

Go on...
