What a beauty! For your tonneau cover, what clamps do you use? Or did you find spots around that ridiculous plastic to put the original clamps?

Yes, after towing the same horse trailer since 2005, I don't need the advanced backup gizmos either. Got to admit it'll be fun to play with!

I am very happy there's a brake controller built in. I've been using the Tekonsha Prodigy Bluetooth for the last ten years in my X5 and the 5g.
I used the clamps that came with the cover, I didn't have any trouble with them, i put the clamps in the same place they were on my 2020, one clamp in the front middle and back. My 2020 had the same plastic caps on the top rails that are on this truck. My 2020 Lariat even had the adaptive cruise control, took me a while to get used to it. I like the brake hold on the 24, when stopped at a light you don't have to have your foot on the brake pedal and as soon as you hit the gas it release the brake. I had a 2018 F150 Lariat that had the pro trailer back up and i just couldn't get used to it. I have played with it on this truck and I'm all over the place backing up, the knob is very sensitive. I haven't tried the self park feature yet so that should be fun.

My 22-year old daughter drove 5g a lot and agreed with me that the transmission was herky jerky and did NOT inspire me with confidence. 6g is completely different and MUCH better!!
What transmission did you have in your last truck? My 2020 had the same 10 speed my 24 has and I think it's a little different because this truck seems confused sometimes on which gear it should be in. Like when I go to pull out and hit the gas this truck takes a little longer to figure out which gear it needs.

All l know is that it was 10 speeds. I don’t know a particular serial number or anything like that.

Funny, when I was towing my horse trailer on the highway with a horse and family and gear, so about 6000 pounds, it worked best in sport mode on cruise control.

What was annoying, is when say I would go from Drive to reverse to back up my driveway, that’s when there would be a lot of clunking and hesitation.

This new truck has none of that. When I pull out into traffic, I don’t seem to sense any hesitation, but maybe I’m used to it already.

Funny that there is no sport mode, just manual with gear shifting. I actually liked the sport mode on the old transmission!

Interesting that your 2020 Lariat had the same plastic cap! So your system was already adapted, I guess.

I think I have that parking assist also, maybe I'll try it next time I'm downtown!

i’m not sure I like the adaptive cruise control, it’s a little too much like my wife! Panics way too early…

I don't believe you are correct about the no sport mode, my 24 does and I would be shocked if your sdoes not. it is in the program button on the rearward most set of buttons on the enter counsel

I'm either in D which turns out is pretty sporty, or M, and I have to shift gears myself 🤷‍♂️

I thought all trucks came with the plastic on top of the bed sides. I had a 2025 F150 that had them a 2018 F150 and the 2020 Ranger that had them and now this 2024 Ranger. I'm surprised yours didn't have them.

Got it!!

Thanks!

OK so this drive mode is activated on the dial, not by shifting to it like 5g.

Took it for a spin in sport and Eco modes. Sport is fun! Eco is not!!

So my 5g had plastic but much lower profile especially underneath and the vertical plastic side inside the box is much longer on 6g

After reading your comment today I went back at it and managed to fit the cover on with my existing clamps. Success!

Here's a crop from 5g, the clamp closed up nice and tight and on 6g the knob is screwed in maybe a dozen turns.

You got it. It took me a while to get that figured out and I was going nuts trying to figure out how to put it in trailer mode.

I called Ford today and they explained to me how to program my Radio favorite presets...I now 100% LOVE this truck.

NOTHING I don't like about it!
