Hello all,
Im about to pull the trigger on the RTT setup for my 2020 Lariat. However, I cannot find any firm feedback on whether the 88lb above rail limitation applies to the 2020? Or just the newest Ford Rangers. The J-Brace websites I've looked at only address 24-25 Rangers.

I'll call the dealership if necessary, but they've been pretty flake in the past, so I figured I'd ask the pros here.

Apologies if this has been covered, I've searched for several days and feel like I am getting conflicting information - youtube reviews are even more confusing,

You would probably get more info about this asking on ranger5g.com . This website is only related to the ranger built in 2024 or later.

I will show my ignorance and confess I don't know anything about the J Brace. My Ranger Lariat with the 2.7 had a build date of 8/25/2024. How do I know if I need the J Brace?
Thanks,
Ed

If it's built before 9/12/24 it does not have the j-braces from the factory. After 9/12 the design was modified so that the braces are not necessary. So yours does need them if you want to carry load on the sides or just reinforce them (early ford wording was that they're necessary if you carry 88lbs or more on the sides while off-roading, but I think they changed the wording).

No braces needed for the 5G Ranger. Make sure your rack our mount is rated for the load of the RTT plus people & gear.
While I never carried a tent, I carried many other things on my 2021.
