Oh, I see. The keyless entry "keypad." I was thinking you had the keyless entry where you touch the door handle and the locks unlock--without using the key fob. My bad. Thanks for your answers to all of these questions. I can't justify another $2k for the tech options. I would love to have the adaptive cruise control but since I've never had it, I suppose I won't miss it. Glad you got the build you wanted and please be sure to share some photos.
Yep, it's a physical keypad that is stuck to the door that allows you to lock and unlock with just the code. 100% worth getting, I won't buy a Ford without it and use it everyday. Often it's just going out to the truck to grab something, and I don't have to bother finding the key to get into it.

I'd say the tech package is worth it because it makes so many things so much easier, but you have to be comfortable learning new tricks, which is tough for some stubborn older dogs.

I have the keyless entry keypad on my F150 and I never use it. I don't even remember the code. But I can see the benefit of not having to mess with the keyfob. I have the keyless "touch" entry in the Bronco and that is the best thing ever. I never take the key out of my pocket--it has push to start as well. I will miss that on the Ranger. Not sure why they didn't make that an option on the XLT.

Have to connect via bluetooth first, the truck walks you through the process with voice and screen prompts.

Then you have the choice of just regular bluetooth connection with the truck, or using Android Auto.
I did that.. every time I start the truck it tells it cannot connect wireless

This keypad is so good! I’m going to get one for my 2024 XLT (my 2021 had it, but the car on the lot that I bought doesn’t)…seems they’re about $100 bought from the dealer, but totally worth it.

Also, someone worked out that with some heat (heat gun/hairdryer) and patience, and some Goo Gone, you can relocate the pad to the fuel door to make the driver’s door looks much cleaner (HERE)

If you get it after delivery, tell the parts guys that you don't want them to stick it on, then you can put it anywhere you want.

I confirmed it'll fit on the 2024 fuel door out of curiosity, but I use it all the time, so having it on the fuel door would be a PITA.

yeah I probably will just put on the door. I used mine all the time on my 2021 Ranger so can’t imagine it’ll change haha

Now if only I could get active cruise retrofitted 😫😫😫 (I really miss it!)

Comes in handy when you're out and don't want to lose your keys (at the lake for example). My question would be is it constantly sending a signal to the ECU that it's inside the truck causing more battery wear on the remote?

Its only function is to lock/unlock the doors. It has a small battery that should last many years and does not need the remote nearby to work. FYI, the fuel-door trick came from some Bronco users who didn't want people messing with their keypad so they hid it behind the fuel door. Since I have the perimeter door lock/unlock feature, I haven't found the need for a keyless keypad. My Bronco can also be started, locked/unlocked with my cell phone. I think only the Lariat Ranger has that option, but not certain.

You mean the key fob? I have the switchblade key that you put in the ignition, not the one you can just leave in your pocket, so the truck has no idea the key is in it.

Correct I was talking about the keyless fob more so.

I love gadgets and useful technology. It's been fun getting to know all the bells and whistles that are part of the advanced towing + technology package. I also opted for 4x4 sport (but not the FX4), and locking rear diff.

ESPECIALLY the adaptive cruise control, which is pretty much the entire reason I spec-ed this thing out the way I did. The lane keeping is good, but not perfect, but being able to go 90% hands free (water bottle hack FTW) in stop and go traffic is AMAZABALLS. I knew it would be the case, but I didn't know to what degree it would reduce stress and concentration fatigue letting the truck do most of the work.

My legs are messed up because... army, so one of the really surprisingly great features is the brake hold when waiting in a long line. I can rest my foot and ankle between moving, it's fantastic.

Other options I can speak to are the keyless entry (100% mandatory on any Ford vehicle), and low profile window deflectors.

I'll be able to provide more info about the 'tray style' weather tec floor mats and cargo management rails once they're delivered and installed by the dealer.

If anybody has specific questions or wants pictures of anything before ordering, just ask.
Payload on door sticker?

Very good payload, better than some 1/2 tons pickups.
