2.7L EcoBoost V6 EPA MPG Gas Mileage Released for 2024 Ranger

I have not seen a post on this yet. The mileage for the 2024 2.3L Ecoboost is pretty much the same as 2023. One exception is the highway mileage has dropped 1 mpg but the combined is still the same.

What really got my attention is they listed the 2.7L Ecoboost mileage. That helps to confirm we may eventually see that V6 in the Ranger. The mileage for the 2.7L engine compared to the 2.3L drops 1 mpg for both the city and highway mileage, but the combined somehow dropped by 2 mpg. (?) Maybe I read it wrong.

It was posted a long time ago, but not the 2.7l mpg. They round the MPG numbers, so I imagine the combined is a reflection of the average rounding down and not up. The highway MPG is probably closer to 22.5

This helps confirm that the 2.7l is limited to the 4x4 only. Previous literature alluded to this as well.

Yeah when they announced it i was wondering it would be standard in the tremor trim which is what I wanted, but still yet to be released.

I consider it a strategic fail to the masses that the 2.7 isn't available now.

They could have gotten the jump on Toyota by offering the 2.7 earlier. Toyota will at some point release their hybrid engine to compete with it.

Have never driven a vehicle with the 2.3 so can't compare but had an F150 4x4 with the 2.7 and had no complaints with either the level of power nor the gas mileage. I liked the 2.7 engine. The 2.7 F150 averaged around 20 mpg for me and would run 22 mpg driving on a longer highway trip while driving 70 mph. I would prefer the 2.7 but am not waiting another year to get one, haven't gotten the 2.3 yet.

I have driven a 2.3 turbo in an 1986 Tunderbird turbo coupe.
I called it my Pinto on steroids. It was fast with the 5 speed manual. New ones are a lot better I would think.
Also wanted the 2.7 but did not want to wait another year.

There'd be nearly constant wheel spin on sharp turns and rainy street with the 2.7 on a 4x2. Tough enough on my 2019 Ranger lariat 4x2 with the 2.3 4! Gonna want to be in 4 Auto all the time with that 2.7!

Doesn't show up in the BUild Your Ranger configurator yet. Understand it's a Job 2 item. Maybe this summer. Hoping Order Books open for it soon. Know what i want and can't wait to throw my Money down!
