Hello,
First post here on the forum but figured I would start a picture thread. I do not own a RR yet, but I am highly highly considering one in the near future to replace my 2015 Tacoma DCLB. I, like many of you I am sure, am a motocross/dirtbike hobbiest/addict. Let's see some pix of mx bikes in the back of Rangers/Ranger Raptors and specs on how you setup your bed for hauling your bikes!! I know I will greatly miss the 6' bed... but that is why I would like to see some of the setups everyone has!!

The only way I was okay with a 5'1" bed is because I now only hitch haul motorbikes (mainly sportbikes) for the last 4 years since a bad off resulted in a weak shoulder and nerve damage making it harder to load into beds. I swear by my mototote with 4 pin light kit. Also frees up the bed for gas cans, tires, and gear, or in my case a wedge camper enclosure in the future.

With the tailgate down it's obviously doable (there's a bunch of press shots with two dirtbikes in the 2024 Ranger) but man the RR bed sits tall, maybe 4-5 inches higher than my Silverado z71 I'm coming from.

Not exactly what you're asking for but some other food for thought.

Heres the DR(far from a dirt bike, I know) in the back of my 2019, so should be the same as 6g. With my 6 foot nissan frontier I could close the tailgate with the bike corner to corner, but not gonna work on the Ranger. Havent had one in my 24 yet.

I’ve never seen a Stark Varg in real life yet. Does that thing rip?

I sure hope the Ranger’s tailgate is stronger than the one in my ‘05 Tacoma!

What the heck happened there? That had to be a massive hit/bump combined with too much weight or stress already on the panel from the rear tie downs no? I can't imagine it collapsing in from loading and hauling with just a reasonable amount of tension... but wow either way.

RR is an amazing truck and vehicle in general, no doubt, and I love that it is almost 3 full feet shorter than my Chevy was but man this bed is just so tiny for hauling all the toys around. A 6f ft bed option would have been amazing. Lots of logistics and rethinking of how I'm hauling gear, MTBs, motos...

It is an absolutely unbelievable bike to ride... It’s comical how easy it is to go very fast and the tuning is unreal on it. I’ve been fortunate to ride 4 of them now…. That said…. Unfortunately I had ridiculous problems with mine. I would love to recommend it, but I don’t think I can until it’s a more sorted product. It is an unbelievably visceral experience, and I really liked the one I had with the handbrake.

Huh, I put my ninja 650 in my Tacoma extra cab with no issues. How much does that Ducati weigh? 6' bed but still had to run the bike over the tailgate.

Nope. Simply driving down a city street after leaving the dealership with my wife's brand new Ducati in the back. My wife was driving, and she just about had a heart attack when she saw the bike getting smaller in the mirror! Fortunately, it high-centered on the edge of the bed and stayed put.

When we got home, I removed the plastic cover and I was shocked to see how the Tacoma's tailgate was constructed!

*not mine pictured

Rather than being double-walled, like every other truck I had ever owned or seen, there is virtually no support for any kind of load that isn't spread out over the width of the tailgate. I guess that's why they call them TACOS.

This was the first year of this generation of Tacoma, and over the following months I started seeing people online with similar issues, and people started building kits to reinforce the tailgate with extra bracing and solid sheet metal, instead of just plastic.

If I had known how to weld back then, I could have fabricated some extra support myself, but I ended up trading in the truck once I realized that "doing truck stuff" was out of its purview.

Here’s mine
@RRaptor24 mind sharing which tonneau cover product you have? Nice low profile and it looks like it actually fits the rounded edges of the bed unlike a bunch of others I've seen.

Might need one while I decide the path forward for a wedge camper.
