I don’t notice much of a sound difference overall and I can still hear the turbo. I got it mainly for engine heat protection.
I would say that it quiets down the noise that you don't want to hear like the injectors ticking. With this high end noise eliminated, it has a lower and beefier tone. I took it for a ride today and got on it a bit at a few traffic lights and have to say I really like the sound difference. I also did not like the way the hood vibrated on windy days and over bumps, this has been reduced by quite a bit. Note that I have a Sport with the hood scoop so the hood vibrations may be different on OffRoads and others without the scoop.
Almost no more clattering, and the turbo is noticeably quieter. I’d guess it reduces the injector clatter by 80-90%, and cuts the Turbo noise by about 20-30%?
That bottom middle pin is a bitch! Seems nice other then that.
I have not noticed a difference in sound at all, just installed mine last weekend and sounds the same.
Have you tried different gas, big difference with mine 87 vs 91 octane.
Yes I had to climb in there, not sure I was going to be able to get out, LOL.
I agree that "last pin is a bitch" it frustrated me so much that I waited a day before attemping to the next day and it was still a PITA but got it in after two attempts. But hey I am 72 yrs old and do things at a slower pace now.
