Watched a very interesting run today. One of the guys had a 2024 Raptor Ranger with the Ford Performance tune and the other guy was driving a Chevy Camaro SS (6-Speed). The guy in the RR said he had it in 4A / Traction Control - Off, and staged at 2200 rpm. They had a dead even run to I’m guessing somewhere around eighty mph. The guy in the Camaro acted like he couldn’t believe it; he was slapping the outside of his door and gave a big 😉👍 to the guy in the RR. Those trucks will really run! 😀

As someone who once owned a 2018 Camaro 1SS 1LE, it’s clear to me that the Camaro driver either didn’t know how to drive or was just playing.
Exactly! Many Camaros of varying engine configurations match the above description.

‘The RR with the FP tune is rated at 455 HP / 536 TQ to the Camaro’s 455 HP / 455 TQ.
The RR weighs considerably more than the SS, but the SS is working with a very linear NA HP/TQ curve, and the RR has about 95% of that torque available at the 2200 rpm launch, and in 4A is putting all of it on the ground. I would never condone street racing, but I can guarantee that the guy in the Camaro new exactly what he was doing, as did the driver of the RR, and it was a damn quick trip.

So you are claiming that a truck with the aerodynamics of a brick, that wears off road tires, that weighs around 1800 lbs more and has a lower Power-to-weight ratio will stay with a Camaro that is lower to the ground, weighs 1800 lbs less and wears sticky summer tires? LOL. Next you will be telling me that a K&N filter will increase your power by 100 bhp and drop your 0-60 by half a second.:p

From a dead stop the RR in AWD would have a huge traction advantage. No way in hell would this be a dead even race.
In reality the RR would smoke the Camaro in the 60' and the Camaro would eventually reel in the RR at around 60 MPH give or take.
Without a video to back it up, it's not really believable.

I need to smoke whatever you guys are smoking. I love the Raptor, but facts and experience owning a Camaro lead me to a different conclusion.

Capt Jack Sparrow……………the south seas tesla/Mazda fanboy. Please do, it might shed some light and calm you down with your feeble attempts at “ad hominem” towards others. Doubt it but there’s always a chance.🫵🤣🇺🇸
Strange response considering I have not posted anything about my current vehicles.

I guess you got triggered because you own a Raptor!

I am on this site because I intend to buy either a Raptor or a V6 Ranger very soon.

But hey, what I do I know. Lets ask the experts instead.

2017 Camaro SS 1LE - Car and Driver - Oct 2016
0-60 = 4.1 secs
0-100 = 9.2 secs
Standing 1/4 Mile = 12.4 secs at 116 Mph

2024 Ford Ranger Raptor - Car and Driver - March 2024
0-60 = 5.3 secs*
0-100 = 15.0 secs*
Standing 1/4 Mile = 14.1 @ 97 Mph*

*Non factory tuned Raptor. TFL truck saw a 0.5 improvement in their testing.

And using my Tesla/Mazda Fanboy brain, those numbers are still slower than a Camaro 1SS.

No more than a car length off the line, the SS caught second and was back in the game.
The SS was pulling up and was dead even at around 80, when he backed off to merge into a lane for an off ramp. Like they used to say, “I guess you just had to be there”, and I was.
I’m not trying to get into any dick measuring contest; just anecdotal evidence of a pretty quick truck.

There are so many things wrong with your comment, I don’t even know where to start.
How can someone who drives a TESLA be so completely ignorant about T-O-R-Q-U-E.
