Hi all,
When choose my topper I debated getting the roof line or a high rise one. Happy with my choice (roof line) but when went to put in either of my ski boxes, I ran into an issue with the roof antenna, does Ford make a short antenna, i.e. one that is the same height as the shark fin part. The box does go on, but the flexible antenna has to bend for it. Pardon the lack of pictures, when I was fiddling with it I didn't care to document the problem. And yes I know I can thread off the flexible antenna but I don't want sand and road grime getting into the openning, and yes I could probably go to the store find a bolt that threads into it, or worse yet and not something I'll do, chalk it with silicone. I only throw the boxes on during winter for longer skis, also the shortness of the bars and placement of the antenna makes it such that I can't just move the box further out on the yakima rails.
Thanks in advance!
