3L V6 Diesel: 247 horsepower (184 kilowatts) and 600 Newton-meters (443 pound-feet) of torque.

Payload and Towing capacity up from previous Gen.

Depending on the version, the latest Ranger has a maximum payload capacity of 1,327 kilograms (2,925 pounds) and up to 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs) braked towing capacity.

Most certainly won't be, but this at least shows that the frame, suspension, and other underlying components can handle that amount of payload and towing. So as long as the US/Can petrol engine(s) can handle that as well, and the additional regulations don't add too many more safety factors, then we have the potential to get close to those numbers as well.

It is, the previous gen in Australia had a max payload of around 1470 kg in single cab-chassis, 4x2 2.2 diesel AT spec. The average was over 1000 kg for dual cab models in lower trims, even with 4x4.

Unlike North America, in Australia we value payload to an equal or greater extent than towing capacity. The people that care the most about towing are those with caravans, most people using them as work vehicles need payload capacity.

The payload of the Australian 5G Ranger is higher in general to the NA Ranger. 2500lbs to 1600lbs depending on what model. . They do run a different probably heavier leaf spring.

Its the one item on the NA model I hope on the standard Ranger is that. They come with a multi leaf spring. I think the previous Gen they called the one Leaf a Parabolic spring. If it comes standard with a multi leaf spring I will be happy. I like the 6' bed and the Super Cab. Following Fords models, most likely I will have to improve the suspension for Overlanding. Above a Tremor.

Our Rangers have a multi leaf pack with a higher constant load rating, we also have an optional heavier rear spring set (factory optional) to suit a 500kg constant load (I think) available on the XL, it also has revised ESC and ABS programming to suit.

As a Yanky I’d jump at the chance to get a Diesel Ranger! Ive put 160,000 miles on my 06 Diesel Liberty. 2.8L 4cylinder 400 ft lbs of torque tuned and still pulls 22mpg combined with some pretty brisk freeway runs. But I could be appeased with a 2.7L option on a Tremor…. Waiting for my Bronco with that motor hoping not take a full year.
