I just picked up a 2024 Ranger XLT Sport last week. I love it.

I was able to get some good discounts at the dealer as I was originally looking at the XL trim to stay within budget.

I'm pretty sure they tried to hose me on the warranty and service plans to recoup those discounts. Thanks to this forum, I will be saving over $750 while adding a year and 35,000 miles to both plans plus a couple of the add-ons I didn'thave on the original policies.

I haven't finished switching to Granger yet. But it should be done tomorrow.

After I completed my Ford survey for my dealer and emailed their Finance Manager they seem to be in a panic.

The sales manager called this evening, I told her unless they can beat Granger's price I'll be switching. She asked if I would be willing to redo the survey and give them 5 stars across the board if they can resolve this because "Bob" will get into some serious hot water. I said if they resolve this and the small cosmetic issue I'll redo the survey. But there is no way they're getting 5 stars. "Bob" F-ed up.

But hey, I still love this truck. Car dealerships on the other hand...

Thanks!

I've owned a Ford for the last 12 years. Just had to retire my 2006 E-150 Econoline passenger van that easily made it past 200K miles with only routine repairs. If the Ranger is as reliable as that was, I'll be thrilled.

I doubt they can match or beat Grainger, as Grainger sells the ESP at $50 above cost.
In my case, '21 STX, $1600 for 8yr 125K Ford Premium Care.

The dealer is actually matching Granger Ford. They're even adding the first day and enhanced rental at no additional cost.

I half-way still want to switch to Granger out of spite because I've had to deal with all of this extra leg work.

My dealer squawked, too when I told them to cancel the Easy Care ESP. They said that it was better than the Ford ESP. I said, I didn't want to be stranded on a long trip looking for a shop that accepts the Easy-Care plan.

Bingo.

The GM tried to tell me theirs is better than Ford. He claimed they had "Wiggle room". He said the contract with Ford will end at 84 months and 1 day or 85,001 miles, but we've been able to work with Equi-pro to get things covered in those situations.

I've worked with contracts for over 15 years. The terms are the terms. And I respect that. "Wiggle room" is not in the contract.

Congrats on a sharp truck and getting a fair deal!

My dealer tried to push a warranty at 3x the cost of the Flood/Grainger ESP plans. Was shocked to learn it was the top of the line Ford plan. Also pushed gap coverage when I was putting 1/3 down. Kind of glad they are 4 hours from home, can only imagine what routine service would be like.
