Any MTB riders in the forum? Been MTB Riding for quite a while now. Had to cut back a little bit due to my age but still at it. We’ve got thousands of miles in trails, both single and double track, from elevations above 5500 ft to over 12,000 verticals ft.

Accumulated totals to date for the past 2 years; over 5K miles, nearing 6K before the end of the year maybe a bit more.

Use an excellent real-time tracking app called; Fitmeter Bike for iOS. GPS generated maps with riders database. REAL-TIME tracking and way points etc. https://fitmeter.net/Bike/ 👍🇺🇸

Yep, going to be doing a ton of CO/NM/UT/WY camping and biking when my truck gets here.

Been riding for 15+ years, worked in the industry for around a decade.

Yep, literally been mtn biking since 1994. First in New England, then the mid-Atlantic, now Colorado. Still love it.

Started riding around 1987 to get a first date with my wife. Still riding & married to the same girl. She’s a competitor, I’m a rider.🙂
Markal - looks to be Moab (porcupine Rim or part of the Whole Enchilada?) & possibly Scofield Pass/401 in your pics? Both are epic!

Yep, another rider here, living in the Vancouver, Canada area.
I'm spoiled with the North Shore, Squamish, and Whistler so close. I'm more casual now than I used to be, but still get out to ride a couple times a month year-round.
I'm also rocking the 1-UP rack, and have the extensions to make it carry 4-bikes, it's fantastic!

Other way around for me. Did a little bit of MTB in the 90's, nothing hardcore. Just got back into it 2 years ago, at the age of 59. I've been averaging about 600 miles per year around southern AZ. I'm no pro rider by any stretch, but I can get down a trail, and I'm doing things my 30-year-old self would have been surprised to see... 😜

MTB rider here as well- was a test engineer for SRAM in for over a decade until last year when I made a career change. Ridden all over the world, raced DH and CX. Now I’m out of shape but the RR is definitely going to be the ultimate shuttle vehicle. Can’t wait, it’s supposed to get here any day now!

Hi, I no longer ride anything, due to health issues, but I feel the need to ask this off topic question. Especially to those who appear to ride alone. Do you carry a satellite communicator, which one and have you ever needed to use it?

Since 2007 I have carried a SPOT with tracking, and now an inReach Explorer (the version with no nav), and am wondering if there are new options I don’t know about (other than the satellite SOS feature on my iPhone). Basic two way comms (texting) is a minimum requirement, and a robust battery life, not dependent on another device….

I am pretty much out of the loop in terms of the latest devices.

I am still involved with riding, sort of, but as a sag wagon for my wife. The 1-Up Super Duty is great for an ebike.

I use the Zoleo Communicator. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, although I'm hoping the additions to the satellite communication coming in cell phones will soon make it obsolete.

I carry an inreach mini. It stays turned off in my bag to conserve the battery life and ensure it's charged when needed. I have it paired to my cell for texting.

Great to hear from other outdoor enthusiasts/MTBers here.
Agree the RR is a great shuttle and the 1-up is a super stable rack adaptable for up to 4 bikes. It’s not cheap, but quality never is.
mine traveled cross country on the back of my “toad” and was the least of my concerns on the trip.

Just completed 4,688 miles today. Looks like riding and walking combined I’ll get over 6000 miles this December if I stay on track. This is over the past 3 years. It’s been allot of riding and walking but enjoyable in some very beautiful scenery.👍🇺🇸
