I have been on a journey of figuring out how to mount my Garmin tread for off-line maps and satellite comms. I think I figured it out.

I got the no-drill seat mount solution from Ram Mounts. Now - I took a chance that this would fit the ranger, all while making my Bronco how I want it too.

Happy to say that the Bronco Kit - fits the Ranger / Ranger Raptor. I've included pics and the stuff I bought.

Works great, the extra foot stabilizer is also mandatory IMO.

I am also aware that I am showing the final product in the Bronco - my next off grid trip is in that vehicle. But honestly the fitment issues would be with the seat mount anyways - and that's a dead on match.

today I just finished the install on the raptor.
1. I made a hole through the floor mat for the optional stabilizer foot.
2. I used a tap-a-fuse in fuse 35. 5amp, and linked to the ignition. Same as the bronco.
3. running the wire along the firewall behind the center console was a bit tricky. In the bronco there’s daylight there. In the Ranger there’s almost none. A coat hanger solved the problem.
4. while the kit comes with 2 arms, I removed one and made the extension shorter.

I liked this setup because you can loosen the top nut, and the passenger can put the gps in from of them to nav and enter waypoints and stuff.

it really didn’t infringed on leg room for me or my family. YMMV.

Can it be rotated around far enough that it gets in the way of the passenger airbag? That would be unpleasant in a collision.

I am trying to figure out an acceptable way to mount my RV660LMT in the driver’s line of sight above the center console, but as low as possible, I dislike having to look down at it. Any ideas?

I love how GAIA nav integrates with Carplay, but it is crippled for routing and no other nav apps work when the cell signal drops. I really need my stand alone gps!

Thanks.

From what I see - the passenger airbag (reversed in these video because it's RHD) comes out of the top of the dash - so I don't foresee any interference.

My only recommendation would be the windshield suction cup mount. Garmin sells a decent one:

When I emailed builtright - they said "Ford really hasn't given us much to work with" which I think is code for "Probably not gonna build one.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, there isn’t a decent way to solidly mount a bracket up there, the speaker toward the front won’t work, and the slotted “grill” immediately above the big display doesn’t offer much support. That grill is flimsy and snaps into the dash structure below it with 5 (?) spring loaded pins. I was hoping to mount a picatinney rail and quick release 1” ball mount on that grill, but don’t see it supporting much weight. Perhaps you could beef it up underneath with a strip of aluminum epoxied to the plastic. I might see if I can pop it out to look without having to completely disassemble the rest of the dash. I would like to run my gps power cord down the passenger side of the grill, through that existing RH vent hole, and then to one of the USB ports near the phone charging pad….

Here is that grill, from a dash disassembly video from Oz (it looks very weak to me):

Holy cow, look at the fingerprints on that screen. Disgusting!
