Yes, it's applied directly to the paint.Is the clear bra applied directly on the paint? May I ask ballpark that costs? I don't want a full hood protector, so that may be the best option for me as well.
I checked around a few places. $895 was the cheapest found but they had a month wait.
I ended up paying $1099 for mine.
Cover's 24 inchs of the hood, and the fender coverage lines up with the hood down the side.
The silver/grey skip plat isn't covered or anything that if not painted. Normally they do the front of the side mirrors, but they are not painted on the XLT.
they also do the edges of the doors and around the door handles.
Had this on my 18 yr old car and it was $400 back in 2006
