I initially asked the question of what it brings to the table when my free subscription ran out. I discovered, not much. All you end up paying for an internet connectivity..

Internet connectivity can be had via one's own cell phone service.
Alexa still works for internal car functions ("Alexa turn AC to 70")
Google works for external functions ("Okay Google, Play Spotify"), and even holding down the button on the steering wheel will default to Google's commands.

So, if one already pays for 4G cellular service, it doesn't make much sense to pay for another 4G cellular service.

That's just what I have found.

Keeping the ones for free then not renewing. I don't use 3/4 of them anyway. Don't use Sirius so just let it lapse.

That's the way it was on 5G. They made it seem like you had to have the AT&T connectivity to use remote functions thru Ford Pass. I had it for a while, then dropped it, as the only thing it did was allow the truck to be used as a WiFi hot spot. Ford Pass functions such as remote start, lock/unlock and scheduled starts work fine.
Now the question is, can you still use Ford Pass functions on a 6G without the subscription.

If it is like the Bronco you do not need a subscription for the ford pass functions to work normally

This looks like a subject that has been discussed but as a new owner that just “renewed” my Ford Premium Connectivity to give myself some time to figure out what it is all about. Well, it seems there is very little value there. If you drive 8 hours a day and stream Amazon music all day long. Maybe it’s worth it? I did like the fact that I was paying to be able to stream amazon music NOT through my phone, but the functionality and interface using Alexa is just not my thing. There is no screen interface, no touch features just a big blank screen and the ability to ask Alexa something. Easier and better to use Car Play in every way that I can see. I am going to call Ford tomorrow and ask the to connect me to the most expert person they have to convince me it’s better than what I have experiences so far. If I find something out, I’ll come back to the forum, if I don’t, it it because I cancelled my subscription.

Not if you have unlimited data on your phone plan.

I haven't seen a single need for it except maybe streaming the internet-only SXM channels. I still have connected nav without the other connected services, and OTA still seems to work, so not sure what else I would need it for?

Does anyone know if we can permanently remove the Alexa garbage from our trucks? I don't need Bezos knowing my driving habits.
