Ko3s are coming D load in February in 18”. I forget which size exactly
Yes I did see the list but the sizes aren't that great, same 265/70 or a 285/65 which the same height just a little wider. I was hoping for a 275/70 or 285/70.

Yea it’s a harsher ride than I expected, also has a vibration at about 75(speed limit here in Co). Avg so far is about 17-17.5.
It's all relative right? I had E rated on my Tacoma that I traded in and within a week or so put E rated on the 4Runner and when comparing to the Tacoma I still feel the 4Runner rides better. Since I didn't get use to the stocks I'm cool with it. Plus the off road peace of mind is where I based my decision, as I do that at least weekly.

Your best bet is probably a 17” I think. Ko3 comes in load C in 285/70/17. I have them on my 5th gen and they’re great just heavy. No balancing/wobble issues like my load E ko2s I had on that truck

Sure it is relative. Don’t want anyone to mistake my post(s) as thinking it’s the truck itself. I’m well aware of the fact that in general a 4Runner is going to be a more rugged ride. I’ve, like many others have been in Toyotas for many many many years. On our 3rd 4Runner. I’ve had many tacomas(all thru the years)and a T100. I understand the tires are a major factor. I have a 2019 ford ranger with 285/70 17s bfg at’s in load C. I can run that down the highway at 90+ and it’s smooth as glass(92k with same mileage on its 3inch eibach suspension).

Our new 4Runner just has a few things that I can remedy with just new tires(I’ve run bfg ats pretty much since I started driving(45 now). However I’m not ready to spring 2K for new tires for a brand new truck. I guess if Im complaining it’s about the dealership choosing LT 285 E load tires. But its 1000% better/funner driving than the 5th gen we sold for it lol, that’s for damn sure!

just a note, just because you get an "E" load tire, you also have to change out the wheel to support the max load of a "E" rated tire. (unless you want a "E" load for better durability for harsh tire treatments)

most oem and aftermarket wheels are only rated up to 2500 lbs per wheel. you have to buy higher rated wheels to support those higher loads (if you need a higher load ratings for your situation)

higher rated wheels support 3500 lbs per wheel but are harder to find especially for most aftermarket wheels, most people buy for looks more so than ability.

thats why you usually see 8 lugs wheels on 2500/F250 or higher trims vs the 6 lugs on 1500/150's (unless you get a HD version of a 1500 series type truck)

I'm hoping the 17" TRD Pro wheels on my 5th gen fit and look good so I can do exactly that. If they do I might think about the KO3's as well but the Mickey Thompson AT's are top of my list to try, the Bronco guys love them and have very good reviews.

you CANT fit a 5 lug 5th gen wheel to a 6th gen 6 lug wheel hub

i was thinking of my 2018 tundra lug pattern when i wrote that above lol, 2nd gen tundra had a 5 lug vs the 3rd gen tundra having a 6 lug

edit : plus the hub bore is 106 on the 5G vs 6G 95

also forgot lug nuts are 12x1.5 vs 14x1.5 i think?

That's good to know thanks! I didn't realize they changed the hub bore, well that kills that idea.

hey at least there is one benefit now. all the BoF vehicles all have the same wheel specs now.

center/hub bore is 95.1
bolt pattern PDC is 6x139.7 (5.5)
thread size M14x1.5

this will apply to

6th gen tacoma
3rd gen tundra
3rd gen sequioa
6th gen 4runner

the only thing you really have to worry about is offset of the wheel.

but if you want details you can goto this website
