So i know it's been mentioned that the shipping type used is determined by mileage the dealership is away from the plant. I believe that distance cut off is 300 miles and anything further away, the new truck will get shipped via rail first before making it's way to your dealership.

I was curious, if retail (special) orders are handled any different, meaning if I have ordered one and my dealership is 330 miles from the plant (yes only 30 miles over the apparent cutoff), would the new truck be shipped via convoy to get it to dealership faster since it's a retail order?

I did look at my dealership's bronco window stickers since the bronco comes from the same place, and all that I reviewed showed rail.

300 mile claim isn't true. There are people on this forum who are >300 miles away that got their truck shipped + delivered via convoy only. Pretty sure Kansas, maybe Georgia/Florida, and various states on the east coast have all had convoy orders.

Retail orders are only handled differently in that they have a higher build priority over stock orders, but I am not aware of any shipping priority.

I'm curious if anyone's truck that's going via rail has been shipped? Mine appears to be sitting at the RM6P for some time now.

How are you able to see its location? I can’t activate Ford Pass until I take delivery of it.

Agreed. My dealership is 400 miles from MAP and my Truck was delivered by convoy. And the convoy went beyond that to deliver other trucks.

Mine shipped to CT via rail on 3/19. Arrived in Albany, NY 3/24, now waiting on offload and trucking to dealership.

I found this on the Maverick forum. I haven’t tried it, but for those that are curious, it may work. I was able to get the train car # from my dealer.

I can't activate Ford Pass either...truck has been "built" but not shipped so assuming it's at the rail ramp...may or may not be a correct assumption.

I'm outside of Tampa, FL and my window sticker says Rail. Anyone know what rail service Ford uses for rail transportation to Florida? Me thinks it is CSX but not sure and there doesn't seem to be a way to check from their site.

Your dealer will have that info on their end. When mine shipped, he texted me a screenshot of his system and it showed the rail carrier, rail car number, and time it was released to them.

I'm not that comfortable asking him this detail right now for fear of being a PIA. If I do not hear from the dealership or Ford by April 3rd then I'm very comfortable asking him to follow up with exactly where it is at.
