Can you use a button on the Lariat steering wheel 2024 that will trigger an IMessage to read to you?

Hi Everyone

In my last car, in carplay, there was abutton on my steering wheel that i could just click and it owould trigger the imessage to read to me so i didnt have to take my eyes off the road and use my hand

i havent been able to find that on the lariat, i tried the answer phone button but it didnt work. Just wondering if there is a way to click on an iMessage to open and read to you without having to look down and click it with your hand

I should say, the IMessage pops up on the screen when it comes in. so if i click that with my finger it plays fine. i just find i have to take my eyes off the road since I am still new to this layout. and i would like to click a steering wheel button if at all possible. i thought the phone one would do this but at least for me it does not

You can also set up the Ford app with a wake word to make it hands free. Ford read my message ok bring home eggs. Maybe

One press on steering wheel talk button gives you the Ford stuff. One press and hold gives you either android auto or iPhone stuff.

I use “Hey Siri” or press and hold voice activation button, bottom right, on left-hand side of steering wheel. Then just say your command:

“Read unread messages”
“Read last message”

rarely touch screen for calls or messages. I prefer to use voice commands.
