If anyone has experience trading in a lemon vehicle with Ford in Canada, I would appreciate any information you can give.

My 24 xlt needed a new propeller shaft at 1800km. The replacement died 2200km later. I figured the third time would be a charm, but it only lasted 1700km... The dealership has no idea what is going on and Ford engineering just told them to continue replacing the part as it breaks.

That isn't a rational plan, so...

I am going to attempt to trade this vehicle where I bought it, but if I stand to lose much I plan to go through Ford directly.

I know we don't have lemon laws in Canada, but there has to be some way of dealing with new vehicles that cannot be fixed. This truck has under 9000km on it.

Wish me luck.

Once you have owned it for 6 months and have a minimum 15,000 kms on it the dealership can export the truck to the USA which means you will get a lot higher trade in value.

We do have "Lemon Laws" in Canada.
CAMVAP (Canadian Automotive Manufacturers Vehicle Arbitration Plan) "www.camvap.ca"
Been through their process from both the consumer side and the Dealers side since it started in 1994. Easy process to get started.

I feel like I will be taking this avenue very soon. Any general advice for the journey?

Have all your invoices, copies of visits and phone calls ready and fill in the report in a detailed manner. Keep emotion out of it - stick to facts, that's what they're after.
