Bed Tents/Tentbox

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on whether or not I can mount a tent box to some rails on the red bed/roller shutter. I have an EGR Rolltrac, they sell the bars to go across, but I see so many things posted about the J Braces and what they do that I’m confused as to whether the bed can take a tent with 2 adults in it? Maybe I’m getting lost in all the threads, but any advice is welcome, thanks.

No you cannot mount a heavy roof top tent on your rails without two things:

J Braces, OEM or aftermarket, at the front bottom corners of the bed. Some later production RRs here don’t need them, I believe, they are installed during production..

Solid “stake pocket” shims or spacers to transfer the load from the top of the plastic trim pieces to the steel bed rails underneath, finding them at all in the USA is problematic at this time. I have no clue about in the UK, this is probably not the best forum to ask such questions.
