Coming from a fully modded 2015 Toyota 4Runner to a 2023 (new gen) Ranger Raptor. Learning from previous mods, my aim is to keep the truck as streamlined and light as possible.

Starting this thread to keep track of good quality rail and crossbar setup for a RTT above the bed. Not that interested in those heavy overland full racks, as I want to keep weight down and the tent top at cab level when closed.

From my basic research so far, I believe the height from bed rail to cab top is around 21 inches (will measure this once I receive the truck). My tent (iKamper mini 3.0) is roughly 13 inches high when closed.

Difference between the two figures means I need a ~8 inch high crossbar setup to run the tent flush with the cabin height.

Install types:
1- Universal/ Clamp in bed sides - most common and universal setup
2- T-slots mount - only possible when running RETRAX covers or a bed cover with T-slots
3- Bolt into the bed rail stake pockets - Not many options out there yet for the new Ranger

BONUS: if the setup can mount an awning bracket as well.

Products found so far with a 8” height option:

1- Billie bars (can add awning mount kit) - universal clamps in bed / RETRAX version also available
2- Putco Tec side rails - utilizes the bed rail stake pockets. Emailed them to confirm fit.
