Auto Start with Key Fob

I have a 2024 Ranger XLT. I have always used the key fob auto start. Recently I have had two times where it doesn't work at all. The doors don't lock and then the "2X" button does nothing. Then I have to open the drivers door manually with the key and an internal alarm goes until I put the key in the ignition. Has anyone seen this?

if it keeps happening, maybe the fob or truck antenna is on the way out?

My 2x button never worked

The 2x button is used for remote start : you have to press "lock" and immediately after press twice on "2x"

I've had two Mustangs with the remote start key fobs and sometimes you have to press the lock button twice and then the remote start button twice.

If you have remotly started it since you last manually started the car then you will need to manually start it again before using the remote key fob to start the vehicle.

My new 2015 RR is in transit but I bet it's going to be the same when it gets here.

Troubleshoot: Have you swapped in a new battery in the key fob? Does your second key fob do the same thing?
If you did those things and still doesn't work then it's the trucks receiver or ECU and need to go to dealer .

I also have a 2024 XLT with the AutoStart key fob. I personally like to use the FORD PASS ap on my phone, to start my truck. Have you tried it yet?

Good suggestion. I haven't tried it. Do you need to pay a subscription for it?

I have to press unlock twice and the start button twice and it starts every time. If I hit unlock only once and then the start button twice on the remote, it will not start.
The Ford Pass app works perfect always.

If you leave home or work at the same time every day, the Ford Pass APP lets you schedule automatic starts. I leave home every morning at 6:15, so I have my truck schedule to start at 6:10. It's a great feature for cold mornings or hot afternoons.

Mine did the same as the original poster, the other day. Nothing worked dead as doorknob. Unlock door with key turned on truck to silence alarm. Then everything worked fine. Trucking only 2 months old so doubt battery bad and been working since. I too usually use Ford Pass app.
