I picked up my 2025 Ranger Raptor on Friday and after driving around for the weekend felt it was driving a little stiff. Checked tire pressure and all 4 KO3’s were at 49 psi. Deflated to 39 psi and feels much better. Anyone else have this issue with over inflated tires from the factory? Not sure how the dealer missed this on their checks. Another weird thing: tires have nitrogen, and I checked the ford pass app when I got to work after deflating and they were all reading 39psi while about 68 degrees outside. It’s 3am and 40 degrees and I checked again, now they all read 43 psi. Scratching my head how they increased 10 percent in pressure and with nitrogen when truck has been sitting for 8 hrs and temps have fallen 25 degrees?

I had the same issue when I picked mine. Completely overboard with the pressure at about 49 psi as well, just like you. Checked after a rough ride home. Deflated to 32 or 36 front (can’t remember now, basically followed the sticker on the passenger side) and 38-9 at the back.
now it’s comfortable. 😁

My truck came with 50 psi all around, had it since December dropped the psi to 39 and didn’t like how the tire had a little sag. Set it at 45 and checking the app it says I still have 45 after 3 months and cold weather.

Pretty cool since I absolutely do not enjoy the inaccessible tire stem on the bead lock capable wheels.

They do this for shipping. Obviously when they do the PDI on it they suppose to lower it back to normal. Lazy mechanic at the dealer then.

Not a Raptor, but an XLT with FX4. They were well over 40 psi when I bought it and they inflated to 40 psi when I had the first oil change. Spec is 30 psi and I prefer to run them a little low.

I swapped the tires to Kuhmos and the tire shop overinflated. It's a global conspiracy.

I had 46 all around.
Doesn't bother me and better for the MPG!

ANYONE know where to get good valve extenders for these bead lock wheels?

It was my '24 Lariat. It felt good on the test drive, I'm thinking it's a truck firm ride, but good. Once I bought it and got it home I was rolling through the in-dash menus and saw my tire pressures are at 50psi all 4 tires - I check the label on the drive door jam.....Ford recommended tire pressure is 30psi! tires were inflated at 167% of Ford recommended. I deflated down to 30 psi and went for a drive and HOLY SHIT the Lariat became an awesome firm and soft ride. I called my dealer (Jarret Scott Ford Plant City FL) and basically asked them what the hell they were doing? I talked with the General Manager there and let him know if I have any tire issues with the original set on the truck I'm coming to THEM for resolution. It's all documented.

You all do know you check pressures cold, not after driving around?

Yep, i watched it sit in the yard in Wayne for 3 months with overinflated tires. Then I watched it's 6 day train ride to Florida the same way. I didn't mention it to the mechanic doing the pdi to see if he lowered it. Nope. So I lowered them before I ever drove it off the lot.

It's normal for new cars to have pressures of ~50psi to prevent flat spots during storage/long shipping. The dealers should be catching that during the PDI.

Yes, I check tire pressure cold. If my tires are going from 30 PSI cold to 50 PSI just from driving on them I have another issue going on.....like a brake fire about to happen....or I took a wrong turn and have been off-roading it on Venus.

Picked my ‘25 RR Monday. Tires were all at 42. Figured their gauge vs my gauge.

When I picked up my 24 ranger lariat in September it also had 48 lbs of air in all tires
and they didn’t know the radio antenna was in glove compartment , I wonder if dealers even checked oil levels any more when they receive the vehicles..
