After seeing the post about Apple Carplay and all of its disasters. I decided to make a post about my issues with Android Auto. Is anyone's wireless Android Auto randomly cutting out? I can connect the USB and have no issues, but on wireless AA sometimes it doesn't happen at all, and other times it will happen back to back or a few times whenever I am driving. I have another vehicle that is a Toyota where this does not happen at all. I told my dealership about the issues but they did not do anything about it. So now I am going to have to press more into it since it is happening frequently and only with my Ranger Raptor, but mostly wanted to see if the consensus is having the same problems as myself.

What phone do you have? I have a Galaxy S24 and have not had any issues with AA disconnecting. My only issue is sometimes texting notifications can be almost a minute delayed.

I have an S24 Ulta. I've had the wireless crash once where I had to use USB until I restarted the vehicle.

S22 Ultra here. I get random lock ups where AA is unresponsive and button presses do nothing. I can still control apps through the phone but not the vehicle screen. Oher screens are responsive. Doesn't happen often but it's annoying when it does.

I had it lock up once already with my S9, and it took using USB just to get it to activate the first time. Already thinking of just skipping AA and using Sync exclusively. The RR navigation seems superior to Maps after playing with it a bit (for finding gas, restaurants, and such) and Bluetooth (audio) works well enough for when I want to hear my playlists or make a call. I simply can't see needing AA right now, especially if I can figure out split screens with Sync. That's the only part of AA I'll miss.

I've got a Pixel 7 and yes this has happened a few times to me with wireless. Usually some action I take (like pushing play on a music app) will crash AA and I'll have to restart.

Generally I just hook a USB up to my phone anyway so the charging is faster and to avoid this issue.

My RR is at the dealer for warranty work. The rental I was given is a 24 Edge. Received the same wireless connection error. Phone wouldn't reconnect. Put vehicle in neutral, held start button to power cycle vehicle, and phone reconnected immediately.

I told people that Sync 4 is ass. Android or carplay. Wireless is not stable on this infotainment. Ford should have put new google infotainment in ranger.

Had my RR for two weeks now. Android Auto has been working perfectly on my P8P, wired or wireless.

Mine does the same thing. Samsung S23 Ultra. Other times it will connect, you can answer a call but then the audio only goes to the phone.

I have the same random disconnect issue with my Samsung Fold 4. I plug it in and most of the issues go away. The only 2 issues I run into is using Audible App when trying to sort podcasts and I've not been able to get ONX Off Road to show on the truck's screen.

I've noticed on other vehicles that AA will kick me out on the same strip of road on my daily commute. There's a plant that I pass that is producing a ton of interference on some of the channels that WiFi uses. If I manually tell AA to use a certain channel, I stay connected. But that's using an AAWireless dongle on vehicles that don't have it natively, so YMMV. I'm not even sure if you can change the WiFi channel on the native systems manually
