I know I read somewhere of someone using a 5th Gen cover on a 6th Gen. I have seen a few 6th Gen covers that use the holes in the sides of the bed for mounting brackets. I think 5th Gen do not have these holes so those covers would use a clamp style bracket for mounting. Will that clamp style bracket work on the 6th Gen? Just wondering if seeking out a 5th Gen cover is a possibility.

I purchased a Tri-Fold Hard bed cover for a 5th Gen Ranger from an Ebay seller. It does use the clamp method to secure it to the bed rails. This cover seems secure and fits pretty well, although the corners at the rear(tailgate) do have a slight overhang. It was an easy install and requires some additional weatherstripping at the front of the bed because there is no bed rail cover there. The price was very good ($225.00), so I decided to accept the small rear corner overhang. No one else has seemed to notice it.

I tried my 5G cap on my 6G and it fits like a glove with the exception of the plastic tail gate cover. There is a slight difference in the shape of it and doesn’t allow it to close…

Any suggestions on what brand has a decent price point cap?

I spoke on the phone with a local ARE dealer today and he has on order the rear plastic cover for $231.00. He spoke with his ARE rep and verified that is the only difference between the model years, just the profile of the tailgate. Be on the lookout for “last” model years topper and potentially save some money over the “current” model year topper.

Received the new rear black plastic cover/adapter piece. Came home, drilled the rivets out on the old one and installed the new one. It fits just like it should. The cover/adapter ordered was a kit from ARE which had the rivets and 2 new seals required for installation. Was a bit of a trick to hold everything because one of the seals just sits in place and is held in with a lip and tension. Took about 30 minutes start to finish.

I went with a leer hf650 for a 2024 Ranger that uses bolts to hold the rails. Happy so far. The reason why I started this thread is Lomax has an outlet with a 2023 hard cover for an excellent price. I asked them if it would fit a 2024 and they said no but I thought it would but did not want to deal with a return if it did not. https://shop.agricover.com/product/outletlomax
