I think you're right. I bought a '23 Ranger engine cover based on a previous thread saying it would work for the 2.3L, but it's not even close.

Top of my engine looks like the new 2.3L in the Bronco thread. So, I guess I'll have to wait and see what cover fits this one.

My question would be does it improve the torque range profile? This is the biggest downside of the 2.3 for those of us who driving in busy urban / suburban traffic with constant speed changes.

It mentions a new twin scroll turbo that improves lag. " It has a new, more responsive twin scroll turbocharger and an electronic wastegate in addition to the engine changes so all in all a pretty significant update. "

Hope your delivery goes well today!
Thanks maus. I have been driving a 2017 Ram hemi that I bought new and has never been back to the dealer for an issue so I am a little nervous. If it has the new (to the Ranger) engine with the port and direct injection that will be a nice bonus that I didnt know about when I ordered it in Nov.

I just picked up my 2024 XLT. Looks like I just missed out on the new 2.3 engine. I have the old 2.3L.

One of the reasons I ordered the 2.7 was for the port and direct injection. This is definitely a value add for the base engine. Also I assume you don't have to deal with a 'wet' timing belt replacement in this version of the 2.3.

It might be helpful if someone can post a 2024 Ranger 2.3L engine so we can compare it against my 2025 2.3L engine pic above.

I know Ford monitors these sites, so if someone from there can step up and confirm what has changed it would be appreciated.

And if so, it would be good to also provide details on the new engine. If it is the new config (like Mustang) then is it also the same tune, same HP/Torque, or a de tuned version ?

I went to my local dealer yesterday and checked base Mustang and Broncos with the 2.3L. The Mustang looks like my Ranger, but the Bronco doesn't .... and it didn't look like the one on Bronco forum.

Here is my 25 Ranger I got yesterday. Its like yours and the Mustangs. The Mustangs used the NEW 2.3 all through the 2024 model year. But I agree, a pic of the 2024 Ranger 2.3 and details from Ford would be helpful. Was the Bronco you looked at a 24 maybe?

Went back to the Bronco window sticker and it is a '24 model, so perhaps the earlier Bronco thread is correct.

Can anyone post a '24 Ranger 2.3L ? Or better yet, can someone with Ford manufacturing knowledge provide guidance on this ?

If not, this is all just speculation on our part.

Thanks, but that looks like the Bronco pic's. Looking for 2024 Ranger 2.3L pic ...
Regardless, let's remember this is all speculation until we get some kind of formal news from Ford.
